Job description

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Orthoptist to join our friendly Orthoptic team on a permanent basis.

This post incorporates a wide range of pediatric orthoptic and refraction clinics and adult orthoptic clinics within the Royal United Hospitals Bath, with the opportunity to work in peripheral hospital sites within the role.

The current post holder has an extended role in AntiVegF injecting and OCT reviewing. There is scope to extend the role with clinical need to give a diverse, interesting job role with training included.

We are a student placement site, therefore you will be involved in teaching and supervision of the students within this role.

To work autonomously as an Orthoptist undertaking highly specialised Orthoptic assessment, diagnosis and management.

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be working closely with the Optometrists, technicians and Ophthalmologists within the Ophthalmology department.

To undertake the role of clinical tutor for the department with responsibility for providing mentoring for orthoptic students on placement to the department.

Applicants must have a degree/diploma in Orthoptics and current registration with the HCPC.
