Job summary

A leading financial services organization in Greater London seeks an experienced Risk Management professional to support and enhance its Operational Risk Framework. Job description
  • Support and review the Group Operational Risk Management Framework and related tools, practices, and policies (e.g. RCSAs, KRIs, Material Risk and Controls frameworks) to analyse and report operational risks in accordance with the Group Risk Management Framework.
  • Support data-driven operational risk initiatives that drive effective consideration of risks in both strategic change initiatives (e.g., organisational integrations) and core business processes across the Group.
  • Provide independent review and challenge of major change programmes, new services, system implementations, and process redesigns.
  • Review and challenge first- and second-line risk assessments including people, system, process, operational resilience, business continuity, third-party and outsourcing risks.
  • Strengthen oversight of third-party and outsourcing arrangements by assessing inherent risks, reviewing controls, and challenging due diligence and monitoring.
  • Establish and report upon key operational risks, controls and Key Risk Indicators across the business, leveraging technologies and systems design thinking, whilst maintaining the timeliness, integrity, and quality control of all reportable data.
  • Leverage data and analytics to identify emerging themes, trends and concentrations of risk; translate insights into actionable recommendations for business and functional stakeholders.
  • Ensure review of operational risk incidents including root cause and impact analysis.
  • Work with investment teams and Group Functions to promote strong risk culture.
  • Work with Compliance and Internal Audit on integrated controls assurance including Fraud Risk Management.
  • Develop and maintain strong understanding of the Group’s technology landscape to ensure digital tools enable enhanced risk insights.
  • Collaborate closely with Group stakeholders on Business Continuity Planning and emergency response activities.
Qualifications and education requirements
  • Educated to degree level
Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience within Professional Services, Financial Services, development finance, infrastructure, or other large‑cap multinational organisations, with exposure to complex operating environments.
  • Demonstrated 2nd Line Operational Risk experience, with the ability to apply risk frameworks effectively in a business embedded context across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Working knowledge of operational risk and enterprise risk frameworks, including COSO ERM principles and widely used non-regulated good practice standards.
  • Practical experience using core risk management tools, such as RCSAs, control assessments, incidents/issue management, risk appetite frameworks, and risk reporting dashboards.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capability, with the ability to interpret both qualitative and quantitative information, identify patterns, and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Robust understanding of quantitative risk methods, and how these can be applied in project based and operational settings to support decision making.
  • Technological expertise with demonstrable confidence in working with data, including analysing trends, extracting insight, and translating risk information for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including the ability to challenge constructively and build credibility with senior leaders and technical specialists.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience preparing high quality reports, briefings, and presentations for senior audiences.
  • Ability to operate autonomously, manage competing priorities, and deliver high quality outputs within dynamic or fast changing environments.
