About the Borgen Project

The Borgen Project is an international organization that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine and poverty. With 20 years of experience in the advocacy space, we have supported the passage of numerous bills benefiting close to 500 million people in developing countries.

Program Overview

This part‑time, unpaid 12‑week remote programme provides insight into the key skills required to lead and develop a nonprofit organization. You may work up to 12 hours per week and complete the programme in fewer weeks if your availability is limited.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with government members in your district/constituency to represent the Borgen Project at various business, political and community events.
  • Mobilise individuals to contact their members of government in support of key poverty‑reduction legislation.
  • Learn how to fundraise, create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
  • Update job postings, inform groups and classes of openings, introduction to recruitment platforms and listen during interviews.
  • Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast and digital media, utilize social media and develop strategies for web‑based messaging.
Qualifications

No prior experience is necessary. We’re looking for people passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of GPAs or background.
