About us:

The Bread Factory is London’s leading Artisan Bakery, known for award-winning breads, pastries, and cakes, supplying top‑quality products across e‑commerce, grocery, food services, and retailers such as our GAIL’s Bakeries nationwide.

Job Overview

We’re looking for a Night Mixing Operative to join our busy bakery production team. This role is at the heart of our operation, ensuring our doughs are prepared to the highest standards before heading into the bake.

This job is for you if you like a fast‑paced environment and enjoy working in a team.

Contracted hours: 45 hours – Full Time

Working Hours: 1am - 10am

Shift Pattern: Mon‑Sun, any 5 days out of 7

Location: Hendon, London, NW9 - If you live in a 5‑mile radius, this job is for you

Responsibilities
  • Accurately weighing and preparing ingredients according to recipes and production schedules.
  • Operating mixing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitoring dough development to ensure consistency, texture, and quality meet our artisan standards.
  • Recording batch details and maintaining clear, accurate documentation.
  • Working closely with production and baking teams to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
  • Cleaning down equipment and work areas to maintain a safe, organised environment.
  • Supporting wider bakery operations when needed.

  • Passionate about baking and eager to grow your skills
  • Comfortable working in a warm, fast‑paced production environment
  • Detail‑oriented and take pride in getting things just right
  • A reliable team player who’s always ready to lend a hand
  • Flexible with shifts and happy to work early mornings or nights
