Job description

HiQ Tyres & Autocare offers a role for a MOT Tester Technician at HiQ Tyres & Autocare. This opportunity is located in our Nottingham Centre and is a full‑time permanent position, Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, with a half‑day finish on Saturday. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

What you will be doing as a MOT Tester Technician:

• Work on all makes and models of vehicles
• Perform diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
• Handle brakes, tyres, and wheel alignment
• Inspect vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and exhaust systems
• Conduct MOT tests on various types of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements
• Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform necessary repairs or adjustments
• Document test results accurately and provide feedback to vehicle owners regarding any issues found
• Stay updated on changes in MOT regulations and testing procedures
• Always maintain health and safety standards, working within company guidelines and safe working practices
• Complete job cards, maintenance records, and associated paperwork to a high standard
• Undertake any additional duties (within reason) for the efficient running of the Store
• Carry out administration duties as required within the store
• Assist in carrying out regular stock checks in accordance with Company Policy

What you will need:

• Experience within a fast‑fit car centre or a recognised vehicle franchise dealership
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands‑on experience using hand tools and power tools
• A valid MOT Tester licence is essential
• Vehicle technician qualification and relevant experience
• Must have a full driver’s licence with no more than 9 points
