Blue Light Card—Mobile Engineer (iOS)

The core tech team at Blue Light Card is embarking on a new chapter of replatforming to a modern, serverless environment. This open role brings you the opportunity to join early on, shape our app experience with fresh ideas, and impact the lives of millions of members.

The Role and the Team

We’re looking for an iOS developer passionate about creating intuitive, high‑quality iOS applications, highly readable code, and a collaborative mobile community of practice to share knowledge across the wider Blue Light Card team.

What You’ll Do
  • Build mobile applications with clear, maintainable, and testable code.
  • Collaborate on solution design meeting functional and non‑functional requirements and Blue Light Card architectural standards.
  • Write clean code, participate in code reviews, and uphold coding standards and best practices.
  • Work with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define and deliver features aligned with product vision.
  • Implement and maintain unit tests and UI tests; diagnose and fix bugs or performance bottlenecks.
  • Support automated build, test, and deployment pipelines for rapid release cycles.
  • Document technical requirements, specifications, and design decisions.
What You’ll Bring
  • Proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI, strong experience in UIKit and Swift packages.
  • Robust testing experience with XCTest, TestFlight, and Appium.
  • GitHub source control and GitHub Actions CI/CD.
  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM) for shared business logic.
  • Familiarity with Amplitude, Braze, Firebase Crashlytics, and Stripe.
  • Experience with cloud services, serverless deployment on AWS, and XCCloud distribution.
  • Excellent communication skills, mentoring ability, and a continuous learning mindset.
