Job description

Here at Mayborn we are on the lookout for a Midweight Creative Artworker to join our team at our global HQ in Newcastle upon Tyne on a fixed term basis!

The team is responsible for driving appeal and consumer delight across every touchpoint of our retail and E-com packaging. With big ambitions to make our brand more relevant and distinct than ever, we’re searching for a detail-obsessed Creative Artworker who brings both design flair and technical precision to every piece of artwork they touch.

As the Creative Artworker you will have a strong focus on packaging design and preparing artwork for print. Working from approved design templates & master templates from the Artwork Manger & Senior Creative Artworker, you will create accurate, print ready artwork across brand packaging and Information leaflets.

What you will be doing:
Templates and Brand Consistency
  • Use agreed design templates & approved packaging templates consistently across all packs, SRPs & IFUs so the full range feels coherent & on brand.
  • Apply layout rules, type styles and hierarchy set by the Senior Creative Artworker & Artwork Manager to keep artwork aligned to business guidelines.
Design Execution
  • Build packaging and SRP artwork for new and existing products, sizes and variants using existing templates and approved design guidelines.
  • Lay out IFUs using supplied content, icons and style guides, ensuring instructions are clear, legible and correctly linked to product packs.
Advanced artwork builds and preparation
  • Produce accurate packaging artwork from master design through to print ready files, including IFUs and information heavy packs.
  • Prepare artwork with correct layers, bleeds and colour settings, carrying out quality checks before handing to the Senior or Manager for final sign off.
  • Manage your own workload across multiple briefs, delivering to agreed timelines within the Creative Team.
  • Work closely with the Artwork Manager, Senior Creative Artworker, Designers and key stakeholders to understand briefs, ask questions early and action feedback.
  • Content for all ongoing projects and line items within and across work items, including PS, PDF, ePass, SimWIFI. The CSM uses Engaged to set the ABT data for low-level and high level customers in case of different program types.
  • Follow studio workflows for briefs, feedback, approvals and handover to production, keeping files and versions organised.
File and Asset Management
  • Name, store and archive artwork files and linked assets so ranges are easy to find, update and reuse.
  • Maintain clear version control across initial artwork, amends and final files.
What skills and experiences you’ll need to ace this job:
  • Highly proficient across Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, with strong Photoshop skills.
  • Strong design skills with a good eye for layout, composition and typography.
  • Experience working from templates and an understanding of how print and finishing affect artwork.
  • High attention to detail with a good eye for layout, composition and typography, able to spot spelling, alignment and layout issues.
  • otify(content) Remove subcomponents.
  • Comfortable handling multiple briefs at once and working to agreed timelines.
  • Experience articuloಈ in a Creative Artworker, Packaging Artworker or similar production role.
