We are looking for a friendly, professional Secretary, for a Medical Secretary and Ward Clerk dual role, with a passion for making a difference to others.

You’ll be working 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday 09:00am to 17:00pm) at Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital, helping ensure the smooth and safe management of our care.

Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital is our emergency mental health hospital in Coventry. The service supports adults across three wards to move as quickly and safely as possible to the most appropriate and least restrictive environment for them.

Brook Ward is Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital’s emergency 16-bed acute inpatient service for men. The ward can accept service users on an informal basis and also those detained under the Mental Health Act.

Your day-to-day…
  • Assist clinical staff in ward administration
  • Ensuring accurate recording & circulation of information
  • File all patient case notes & conduct regular audits to ensure all paperwork is up to date
  • Complete all ward filing in line with Cygnet policies
  • Answer telephone, cover reception & undertake other administrative duties as requiredEnsure that reports are submitted on time & that care plans are accurate & up to date
  • Provide a high standard of secretarial support to members of the medical team
  • Maintain a good working relationship with clinicians & caring professionals
  • Attend & take minutes at a variety of clinical meetings, hearings & tribunals
  • Produce high quality admission & discharge summaries & tribunal reports
  • Type minutes, care plan approach reports & care plan outcomes
  • Create & maintain patient records & paper files
  • Liaise with medical secretaries to ensure timely submission of reports

  • Skilled at inputting, pulling & analysing data using Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc
  • An excellent verbal & written communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to swiftly solve problems & work under pressure without compromising quality

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
