An experienced Mechanical Maintenance professional responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems through both reactive and proactive maintenance activities.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out reactive and proactive maintenance activities across local facilities, with a strong emphasis on compliance and safety.
  • Maintain mechanical plant equipment and process machinery, including lifting equipment, high-pressure steam systems, boilers, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Perform mechanical breakdown repairs on all plant and process equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and operational continuity.
  • Oversee boiler operations and high-pressure steam systems with adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  • Support and mentor apprentices by promoting safety, compliance, and best practices in mechanical maintenance.
  • Proactively report any safety or operational concerns to line management to maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Requirements and Preferred Skills
  • City & Guilds or HNC-qualified or equivelant in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Time-served mechanical fitter with post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Proficient in steam, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fire prevention systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and preventative maintenance skills.
  • Quick to learn and understand complex mechanical systems.
  • Clear communicator across all levels of the engineering team.
  • Organised with a logical, solutions-focused approach.
