Job summary

A leading NHS organisation in the UK is seeking a Mechanical Estates Officer responsible for managing the maintenance and compliance of all mechanical services across the Trust. The role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in HVAC systems. Responsibilities include managing installations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and performing site inspections. Applicants should possess a relevant degree or an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering alongside experience in project management and technical expertise.

Qualifications

  • HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services is required.
  • Recognised apprenticeship or trade background in mechanical engineering is a necessity.
  • Experience in mechanical building services maintenance and project management is essential.
  • A strong knowledge of HVAC, water systems, and medical gases is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, plan, and supervise mechanical maintenance and installation works across the Trust estate.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, HTM/HTM 03, and HSE guidance.
  • Carry out site inspections and audits of mechanical plant and equipment.
  • Investigate mechanical engineering failures and develop action plans.
