Overview

Mechanical Commissioning Manager - Europe - 144858 at Jones Engineering. This role is based in the UK with future projects across Europe. You will lead and oversee the commissioning process of mechanical systems across projects, ensuring installation, testing, and performance validation of mechanical systems including HVAC (fans, AHUs, ductwork, VAVs, refrigerant systems), life support systems (fire smoke dampers, hydronic piping, evaporative cooling, waste heat recovery), and building automation systems (BAS).

Responsibilities
  • Commissioning Leadership: Plan and execute the commissioning process for mechanical systems on assigned projects. Collaborate with project teams to establish commissioning schedules and ensure timely project completion.
  • System Testing and Calibration: Conduct testing and calibration of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, BAS instrumentation, and related equipment) to validate functionality and efficiency.
  • Issue Identification and Troubleshooting: Identify and address issues, deviations, or deficiencies during commissioning. Work with multidisciplinary teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of commissioning procedures, test results, and system performance. Prepare commissioning reports for client review and delivery.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients throughout the commissioning process, providing updates and addressing inquiries to ensure client satisfaction with deliverables.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work with project managers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within the project.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Right to work in the European Economic Area (essential).
  • Proven experience commissioning mechanical systems for industrial or commercial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Effective time management to meet project deadlines; willingness to travel occasionally for on-site activities.
  • Data centre experience is advantageous but not essential.
