Job description

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in London Office)

Salary range: £40,000 to £60,000 based on experience

Full-time

The role:

We’re looking for a commercially sharp, impact-minded marketer to join ekko as we grow globally and deepen our partnerships‑led approach.

This is a hands‑on, roll‑your‑sleeves‑up role. You’ll be shaping go‑to‑market campaigns, co‑creating roadmaps, involved in key partner relationships, and keeping the marketing engine humming. If you’ve done B2B2C before, ideally in fintech or payments, and love joining dots between product, partnerships and brand, this one’s for you.

To note, you will also be covering some team lead duties while our head of marketing (Delphine) is on maternity leave (May to Oct 26).

ekko is a fast‑growing scale‑up changing the way the world thinks about payments and sustainability. Headquartered in London, with an office in Cape Town, South Africa and in Atlanta, USA. We’re making sustainability a part of every transaction and creating a significant impact on the planet.

Our vision is bold: to contribute $1 billion to high quality environmental projects worldwide, helping build a healthier future. Designed to be borderless and scalable, our platform brings real‑time carbon footprint data into financial products, making it easy for people and businesses to make informed choices.

Partnering with global leaders like Volt and pioneering organisations such as Optty and Ecommpay, ekko is breaking new ground at the intersection of fintech and sustainability. Recognised with multiple awards in both finance and sustainability, we’re proud to be redefining what’s possible for environmentally‑conscious innovation.

Our approach is anchored in three core pillars:

  • Education: Delivering real‑time carbon data on transactions to inform better choices.
  • Engagement: Providing actionable insights to help users track and reduce emissions.
  • Action: Enabling contributions to vetted, high‑impact environmental projects worldwide.

Joining ekko means helping shape a transformative movement with real global impact. If you’re ready to push boundaries and help scale a solution that changes lives and protects the planet, we’d love to have you on board.

Key responsibilities:

1. Go-to-market & partner campaigns

  • Lead campaign development for payment service provider (PSP) and merchant audiences
  • Own co‑branded marketing efforts with PSPs and other partners
  • Work closely with Product, Sales and Partnerships to make sure messaging lands and timelines align
  • Co‑develop the regional marketing plan with our team across the UK and US
  • Run cross‑channel campaigns that blend brand, product and performance marketing
  • Bring ideas to life quickly, and be the voice of “let’s just ship it”
  • Keep our systems tidy and our planning sharp (Hubspot, Notion, etc)
  • Set up our reporting capabilities
  • Own the comms rhythm: making sure the right people know what’s happening, when
  • Help the team make decisions, not just content

4. Team support (while Delphine’s off)

  • Ensure clear priorities, unblock team members where needed, and give clear feedback
  • Make sure every project has an owner, a goal, and a path to done

You’ll report to the Head of Marketing and work closely with the Chief Growth Officer, Chief Sustainability Officer, and wider commercial team, contributing directly to our go‑to‑market strategy and influence in the fintech and sustainability sectors.

What we’re looking for:

Quick note: Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. We value diverse backgrounds and encourage all candidates to apply, even if you don’t meet every criterion below.

  • 3-5 years in generalist marketing roles, partnership marketing, or product‑marketing.
  • You’ve got experience in partner‑led go‑to‑market strategies (ideally in a B2B2C or fintech setting)
  • You’ve worked closely with PSPs or ecosystem partners and can navigate cross‑functional collaboration
  • You’re as comfortable building a pitch deck as you are sketching out an email journey or landing page
  • You’re organised, pragmatic, and happy to jump in wherever needed
Skills
  • Go-to-market planning across digital + offline
  • Solid grasp of CRM (we use Hubspot)
  • Strong copy instincts
  • Clear, kind communicator (written and verbal)
  • Proactive and comfortable owning projects
  • Can prioritise and simplify when things feel messy
  • Collaborative, but fine flying solo when needed
  • Competitive pay and equity participation
  • Opportunities to travel and collaborate with a passionate, diverse team.
  • Make a tangible impact on the environment and future of our planet
  • Dog friendly office (Douggie welcomes you!)
Apply because you want to:
  • Have a positive impact on the environment
  • Be an early member of the team and play a key role in shaping the company.
  • Work with a diverse team of bright, curious, kind people in an exciting industry
  • Be challenged to learn and grow
  • Work in a high‑paced, exciting setting where your contributions make a real impact.

If you’re a motivated communications professional who loves to tell stories and engage audiences, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now to join ekko and help us shape the future of payments and our planet.
