Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, the Scheduler is responsible for building an achievable site work schedule that includes correctly prioritised and executable work scopes that ensure platform safety and business performance is delivered effectively and efficiently. The Scheduler will play a part in the continuous improvement of scheduling systems, processes and contribute to the improvement of the Work Execution Process.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply the scheduling process and assure the quality of information within work orders.
- Co-ordinate weekly scheduling meetings and conversations, build and issue the weekly schedule.
- Deliver a frozen schedule resource levelled with consideration given to backlog, routine PM and breakdown work.
- Drive effective and efficient delivery of all activities within the schedule / plan, both routine PM and breakdown work orders working to schedule ahead of target finish dates for all priorities where possible.
- Maintain effective communications with all parties involved in the generation, preparations, and implementation of all scheduling activities.
- Look for continuity of the application of the scheduling process across all the scheduling effort.
- Assist in effort to maintain transactional data i.e. identifying duplicate and superseded work orders.
- Provide system and process training where necessary.
- Run routine & breakdown work order look-ahead to identify work for inclusion in the schedule based on risk, basing the future scheduling capacity on historical burn rate, ensuring not to overload future work demand.
- Challenge Job Plan planned hours, tasks, and crafts to accurately reflect the resource requirements for PM and CM activities.
- Challenge asset scheduling activities, eliminating waste, and focusing in prioritising production critical and safety critical WO’s based on available capacity, forelog, and backlog.
- Ensure work activities are coordinated to minimise plant downtime and optimise resources.
- Responsible for striving to a schedule attainment performance of 90%, code and investigate all non-attained scheduled activities and define and manage improvement.
- Ensure that CAP activities from the integrated activity plan are aligned in the CMMS Maximo site schedule.
- Manage the process of reviewing and agreeing the site schedule.
- Interface with offshore leadership in execution of work orders/maintenance activities to understand progress and delays.
- Optimise vendor / specialist activities ensuring no mobilisations takes place where comprehensive work preparation is not complete and executable.
Competence Requirements
- Experience of maintenance and operations planning and administration within the Oil & Gas industry is essential.
- HNC or equivalent with significant experience in a similar role as a functional or maintenance scheduler is essential.
- Valid OGUK Medical, MIST and BOSIET is preferred.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience of working in a Scheduler role within the Energy Industry, is essential.
- Proficient in the use of Primavera planning software is essential.
- Competent in use of Maximo Maintenance Management System is essential.
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, Outlook and Power point is essential.
- Knowledge of plant equipment and oil and gas production processes is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships is essential.
- Demonstratable skills in adapting to change and leading change processes and promoting behaviours that meet the organisation’s Aims and Values is essential.
