The Maintenance Mechanic will maintain the operational capability of all equipment in the Preston production plant. Coordinates with production leadership to ensure a smooth flow of production. Eligibility is based on Plant and Company profitability.Base Hourly Rate: $30 - $34/hour + shift differential for hours worked outside of 1st shift**Note**: New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.Core Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 PM -4:30 AM* Maintain and repair all plant equipment and machinery.* Perform all work orders as required.* Perform troubleshooting of all mechanical and electrical problems as they occur.* Make sure all preventive maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner.* Keep track of all problems that occur on the shift and convey the information to the supervisor, lead, and/or respective department manager.* Interact, cooperate, and coordinate tasks with other workers through positive communication.* Notify appropriate department(s) when encountering situations that may impact production efficiencies.* Seek to improve process, develop best practices, and ensure quality; share these ideas with supervisor for support.* Maintain and promote a safe and sanitary environment by following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).* Seek to improve processes, develop best practices, and ensure quality.* Ensure food safety, quality, and SQF practices are followed at all times, advising your immediate manager of any food safety and/or quality issues.* Complete other responsibilities as assigned.**WHAT YOU BRING*** 2+ years of Maintenance experience, ideally in manufacturing.* High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent experience.* Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, occasionally working evenings and weekends for special assignments.* Ability to accommodate overtime, occasionally working other shifts and weekends.* Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.* Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs. repetitively, as well as to push and pull up to 100 lbs. regularly.This role is safety-sensitive.
