Machine Operator Milk Pasteurising Production Operative

Pay: From £16.09 per hour

About the Role

As a Machine Operator, you’ll be working within a modern processing plant, operating specialist machinery for milk and juice pasteurisation. You’ll follow strict procedures and hygiene standards to ensure the highest product quality and food safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor pasteurising and processing machinery
  • Accurately mix formulations according to recipes and batch instructions
  • Move barrels, connect/disconnect pipes, and perform other physical tasks
  • Climb ladders and transport heavy materials safely
  • Complete production records and follow SOPs precisely
  • Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and safety across the workspace
  • Physically fit (examples: able to climb ladders, 12hr shifts on their feet in quite hot environment in summer, heavy lifting rolling juice barrels, lifting pipes etc)
  • Maths skills (working out product, mixing formulations)
  • Fluent written and verbal English (to complete the training, to liaise with the management & raw product delivery drivers and to be able to complete the in‑house documentation & records)
  • Attention to detail
  • Performing under the pressure / thinking on their feet
Requirements
  • Physically fit role involves heavy lifting, climbing, and manual Moz
  • GCSE Maths (essential for accurate mixing and measuring)
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Experience in dairy, brewery, or pasteurising operations preferred
Hours & Pay
  • £16.06 per hour
  • 5 days out of 7 days over a Monday to Saturday
  • Flexibility required; shift patterns may vary
  • 40-48 hours per week
