Job summary

A regional firm of solicitors is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their Wingate office. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and secretarial support to various legal departments. Responsibilities include preparing legal documents, managing communications, and maintaining accurate records. Applicants must have at least a year of experience in a similar role, possess excellent typing and IT skills, and maintain a professional demeanor. Flexible working hours are available with a salary to be agreed based on experience.

Qualifications

  • One year’s previous experience as a legal secretary essential.
  • Private client and/or conveyancing experience preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent typing and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Organised and methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.

An opportunity for an experienced and highly organised Legal Secretary to join our team at the firm’s Wingate office. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the private client and conveyancing departments. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit environment and values variety in their day-to-day tasks.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Prepare, format and proofread correspondence and legal documents and keep accurate and up to date records on the firm’s case management system.
  • Answer and make phone calls and manage email communications.
  • Schedule appointments and manage diaries.
  • Assist with billing, time recording, and other administrative tasks.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with legal procedures.
Person requirements
  • One year’s previous experience as a legal secretary essential.
  • Private client and/or conveyancing experience preferred but not essential.
  • Digital dictation and audio typing experience essential.
  • Excellent typing and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills providing a customer focused, quality service at all times.
  • An organised and methodical approach to working with excellent attention to detail.
  • A polite, cheerful attitude, particularly when meeting clients and visitors.
