Job description

The University of Wolverhampton is now seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy to join the existing Occupational Therapy and wider Allied Health academic teaching team.

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist within the Department of Allied Health to support and facilitate learners throughout their studies to become an Occupational Therapist via the direct entry, apprenticeship, and Masters routes to qualification.

The role of the Lecturer in Occupational Therapy involves preparation and delivery of teaching and learning activity on various aspects of the courses including the delivery of skills, personal tutoring, assessment and support of students in placement. A commitment to innovative teaching and research activities within Occupational Therapy are a requirement of the post in order to contribute towards the OT portfolio and the profile of the faculty.

The successful applicant will have extensive experience and knowledge of occupational therapy practice and will be familiar with the requirements of the Occupational Therapist. Effective teamwork and excellent communication skills are essential. Familiarity with the support of occupational therapy students would be beneficial and formal teaching experience is preferred but is not essential. Applicants who do not hold a teaching qualification would be expected to work towards one and a commitment to achieving Fellowship with Advance HE is a requirement if recognition has not already been achieved.

Applicants must hold a relevant professional qualification or undergraduate degree and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as an Occupational Therapist is essential.

This is a full time, permanent post and is based at Walsall Campus, although cross campus travel and travel to practice placement areas will be expected at times.
