Overview

Northern Counties School, part of The Percy Hedley Foundation, seeks a passionate and dedicated British Sign Language (BSL) Learning Support Assistant. This role requires a BSL level 1 or above qualification.

The school aims to make a difference to the learning, wellbeing and future life chances of children and young people with significant additional needs. Teachers, Therapists and Learning Support Assistants work together in trans-disciplinary teams to meet individual needs and unlock each child’s potential.

Responsibilities

  • Experienced in working with pupils with autism, some of whom may display behaviours of concern or who can demonstrate transferable skills from another employment area
  • A robust and resilient practitioner able to perform in a dynamic and challenging environment
Role details

Full and part time roles considered. A full-time role would be working 35.75 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks).

Requirements

BSL level 1 or above qualification. Enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants who are able to support students with Autism.

Salary amounts quoted are from 1 September to 31 August and will be subject to an equated salary adjustment if you commence employment part way through the academic year.
