Where will you be working?

BGEN is one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear and Food and Beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions.

What will you be doing?

We’re looking for a friendly, hands‑on engineer who enjoys guiding projects from start to finish.

You’ll be involved in every stage of control system design, development, testing, and commissioning, while creating clear technical documentation along the way.

Your skills in PLC, HMI, and SCADA software will help bring ideas to life, and you’ll also tackle reverse engineering to build strong design records.

You’ll mentor junior engineers and lead a small team of 3-5, supporting their growth, assigning tasks, and celebrating progress together.

What you’ll bring:
  • Hands‑on experience with at least two of Rockwell, Mitsubishi, or Schneider systems
  • Background in Water & Wastewater treatment projects
  • Proven track record delivering complex control solutions
  • Confident leading a small, supportive engineering team
  • Skilled in design reviews, technical oversight, and quality assurance
  • Able to interpret client standards and user needs with care
  • Reverse engineer legacy systems into modern solutions
  • Strong communicator with excellent time/project management
  • Commercially aware
  • UK driving licence holder
