Job description

The Lead Invigilator will work alongside the Exams Officer to assist with the administrative aspects of exams and contribute to the efficient delivery of examinations by providing an orderly environment, offering clear instructions and being a calming presence at a time of heightened anxiety for students. Full exam and safeguarding training will be provided.

The role would be ideally suited to applicants who are highly organised, vigilant and reliable, have excellent attention to detail and can remain calm under pressure. You will also be comfortable being solely in charge of an examination room if required.

We have a variety of hours and dates to offer from February 2026 and throughout the 2026/2027 academic year. To apply, please submit your CV and covering letter indicating your availability and when you would be able to start.

These positions are required to work during key exam months throughout the year. We can provide up to 50 working days a year in December, February, April and May/June. Notice will be given of exam dates and agreed in advance with the Exams Officer. Lead Exam Invigilators must be available to work Monday – Friday during the exam periods to ensure continuity for students.

Rate of pay: c. £21.12 per hour inclusive of holiday pay.
