What you’ll do

Architect & deliver robust, scalable back‑end services using Java 21+ and Spring Boot (micro‑services, APIs, event‑driven pipelines).

Enable clients to run mission‑critical workloads on AWS/Azure with high availability.

Lead & inspire a multidisciplinary engineering team (3‑7 members). Mentor junior engineers, run regular code‑reviews, pair‑programming sessions and technical workshops.

Raise the overall technical bar and foster a culture of knowledge‑sharing.

Drive best practices around CI/CD, automated testing, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) and observability.

Reduce time‑to‑market and improve reliability for customers.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, data, security and operations teams to translate business goals into technical road‑maps.

Deliver end‑to‑end solutions that meet client expectations and compliance standards.

Champion professional growth – organise internal training, sponsor external certifications (AWS, Azure) and support conference attendance.

Keep the team at the cutting edge of cloud technology.

What we’re looking for

• Technical expertise – 5+ years of Java development, deep experience with SpringBoot, SpringData, SpringSecurity and RESTful APIs.

• Leadership & mentorship – Proven track record of leading engineers, conducting technical interviews and fostering a supportive team environment.

• Communication – Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders and inspire confidence in clients.

• Agile mindset – Comfortable working in Scrum/Kanban, iterating quickly and embracing continuous improvement.

A plus

• Cloud fluency: Hands‑on experience deploying Java services on AWS or Azure; familiarity with IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).

• Containerisation: Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
