We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to head up our incinerator service and maintenance operations – a senior, field-based position where you’ll take technical ownership whilst leading and developing our service capability.

The Role

As Lead Engineer, you’ll combine hands‑on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, providing specialist support to customers whilst mentoring and guiding other engineers. You’ll ensure our customers receive outstanding service across all aspects of incinerator equipment maintenance and repair. Full training will be provided on the specific incinerator equipment and systems. This role requires a full UK driving licence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the servicing, fault finding, and repair of industrial and commercial incinerator equipment, waste handling systems, and associated equipment
  • Provide expert technical guidance and problem-solving for complex installations
  • Mentor and support service engineers, acting as the technical escalation point
  • Build strong customer relationships as their primary technical contact
  • Manage breakdown cover, scheduled servicing, and major service projects
  • Develop service procedures and technical documentation
  • Work safely, comply with all Health & Safety policies, and complete documentation promptly
  • Proven experience with industrial/commercial incinerator or biomass equipment
  • Good experience working with combustion systems and proven practical application
  • Electrical and mechanical fault‑finding expertise
  • Understanding of PLC control systems
  • Previous experience in a lead, senior, or supervisory engineering role
  • Multi‑skilled engineer with recognised mechanical or electrical qualifications
  • Excellent problem‑solving, customer service, and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
Advantageous
  • Experience with multiple incinerator/biomass manufacturers
  • Understanding of emissions monitoring systems
  • Commissioning experience for industrial plant
  • Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH)
  • Basic welding and pipefitting skills
