Overview

The Lead Data Scientist is a senior technical leader responsible for driving data science strategy and innovation, overseeing the development and implementation of data-driven solutions that enhance service offerings, and delivering quantifiable impact for clients and CF.
Responsibilities
- Data Strategy and Innovation: Develop and implement data science solutions aligned with CF's corporate strategy; identify and apply emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML) to enhance consulting services; collaborate with clients to understand data challenges and deliver innovative solutions; stay ahead of healthcare sector trends to provide strategic insights.
- Technical Development and Implementation: Develop and deploy advanced analytics models; ensure robustness, scalability, and accuracy of models; work with data engineers on scalable data pipelines and infrastructure; develop and maintain data visualisation tools for non-technical stakeholders.
- Business Development: Support proposals and client pitches with data-driven insights; identify opportunities where data science adds value; build and maintain relationships with clients and industry partners to advance CF's data capabilities.
- Data Operations and Governance: Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulations (including GDPR and healthcare standards); contribute to data management processes; collaborate with information governance teams for safe and ethical use of healthcare data.
- Team Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with consulting and technical teams to integrate data science into client projects; mentor junior data scientists; share knowledge through presentations, workshops, and thought leadership.
- Leadership and Delivery: Lead and manage technical components of blended projects; provide mentorship, quality assurance, and proactive problem-solving; contribute to proposal development, technical bids, and resource planning.
Requirements
To be successful, the role requires a combination of the following:
- Mandatory experience: containerisation and cloud deployment of models; understanding of data privacy requirements; excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to translate business problems into technical solutions and present outputs to clients; proficient in Python and standard DS toolkit; experience with cloud services and containerisation; proficiency with relational databases; strong understanding of statistics.
- Preferred: experience in healthcare or life sciences consulting; familiarity with healthcare data sources, standards, and regulatory requirements; knowledge of natural language processing and AI techniques; experience with big data technologies and frameworks.
Flexible Working
Hybrid model with remote work allowances. Up to 44 remote working days per year, with core in-person hours 10:00–16:00; option to work from home up to two days per week subject to client needs. Blocks available to manage holidays or commitments.
