We are a dynamic and rapidly expanding property development and construction company based in Nottingham.

About the Role

Are you a motivated, detail-oriented individual looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your career in finance? We’re looking for a Junior Financial Controller to support our growing finance team. As a Junior Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in assisting with all aspects of financial accounting, from day‑to‑day financial transactions to month‑end reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified finance professional who is eager to gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, ever‑evolving industry.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Support with the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and help ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Process and review financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist with VAT returns, bank reconciliations, and payroll queries.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.
  • Work closely with senior finance professionals to drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.
  • Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting as required by management.
Qualifications
  • A recently qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) or an Apprentice Level 6 or 7.
Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • A high level of proficiency in Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
  • Enthusiastic about learning and growing within a supportive, collaborative environment.
  • An interest or experience in property development or construction is a bonus, but not essential.
