MRAG Limited is a leading international consultancy dedicated to the sustainable management of natural resources. We specialise in aquatic resources, in particular fisheries and aquaculture.

Your Role

As a Junior Consultant you will contribute to our exciting portfolio of international aquaculture projects. You will be expected to help project identification, planning and implementation. You will work as part of a larger team delivering consultancy projects in the UK, Europe, and globally.

Experience with project management would be an advantage, but a successful candidate must be organized, responsible, and capable of managing their time effectively. Your role will vary across projects so adaptability, and a willingness to learn are key. Candidates must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

You must be capable of managing project components with minimal supervision and be trusted to exercise sound judgement, ensuring that any project-related issues are escalated to senior management, when needed. Activities you are expected to undertake may include delivering field work, conducting analysis, interpreting and presenting data, and participating in or helping to organise meetings. You will also be responsible for writing sections of high‑quality technical reports, coordinating with others, and meeting multiple deadlines.

This role offers excellent opportunities for training and to develop a range of skills and professional experience, take on increasing responsibility, and grow within an international consultancy environment.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Batchelor’s Degree or postgraduate qualification in aquaculture, marine biology, fisheries science, or another relevant field.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and quantitative analytic skills.
  • Experience using analytical software packages (e.g. R statistics, QGIS or similar).
  • Ability to multitask, working on several projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both within teams and with clients and project partners. Fluency in English, additional languages would be desirable but not essential.
  • Business development and project management experience and/or professional experience in the fisheries and aquaculture sector is a bonus.
