ABOUT THE ROLE
A BRIEF SUMMARY

We are seeking candidates for the position of Junior Camera Assistant to join our team for an exciting new opportunity to work within the football Outside Broadcasting sector.

This opportunity will primarily involve working with remotely‑operated specialist camera systems, located within the goal area. The successful candidate will need to have strong technical knowledge, a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.

As well as rigging, positioning and operating the cameras the role will involve building the complete infrastructure from the base station to the camera head, ensuring all connections and cables are passing power and data where necessary. Liaising with 3rd party technicians and the client, this candidate will have an excellent aptitude for technical fault finding, signal paths, and camera equipment. The candidate must be prepared to undertake weekend and evening work and willing to travel extensively.

We are looking for a logical thinker with a ‘can do’ attitude in what will be a fantastic opportunity to play an exciting and vital role within the broadcast of our nations favourite sport.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
  • the preparation of specialist camera equipment at base.
  • rigging and operating specialist camera equipment on site.
  • the preparation of remotely controlled broadcast camera equipment.
  • the successful delivery of said equipment on site, including rigging and operating in an Outside Broadcast environment.
  • ensuring that all job‑related admin is completed in full.
  • basic maintenance of equipment, including cameras, lenses, remote heads, OB vehicles.
  • with experience) for leading a small team of technicians (staff and freelance).

All employees are expected to contribute and participate in work activities in line with our management system to ensure the continual improvement of our business.

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF
  • have the ability to deliver at the highest standard whilst under the constrictions of time and production demands.
  • are educated in a media, broadcast or a technical course.
  • have inquisitive mind/Excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • have demonstrable interest in technical aspects of TV production – experience with IP advantageous.
  • are confident and proactive under pressure.
  • have ability to prioritise effectively.
  • are able and willing to travel around the UK as well as abroad.
  • have a full, clean UK Driver’s license.

Some prior experience of Outside Broadcasts, as well as broadcast‑related cameras/lenses and associated equipment would be desirable but training will be provided.
