About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

FDM is seeking a ION Support Analyst located in New York City to support a project in the finance sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 2-3 days per week.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated ION Support Analyst with 2–3 years of experience to provide first- and second-line support for our ION trading platform and associated systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting trading environments, with strong knowledge of ION platform components and a solid understanding of financial markets.

You will work closely with front-office traders, developers, infrastructure teams, and vendors to ensure system stability, performance, and availability of trading platforms in a high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day support for ION Trading platform (e.g., MarketView, Anvil, etc.) across front-office and middle-office functions.
  • Monitor system performance, proactively identify issues, and respond to alerts/incidents.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to order management, pricing, and market data.
  • Liaise with ION vendor support for issue escalation and resolution.
  • Perform system checks at the start of day (SOD) and end of day (EOD).
  • Collaborate with traders and stakeholders to understand and resolve functional or technical issues.
  • Manage change requests, perform deployments, and support UAT and production environments.
  • Maintain and update support documentation, knowledge base articles, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for out-of-hours support (as needed).
About You

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience in an application support or technical support role within financial services.
  • Hands-on experience supporting ION trading platforms (ION MarketView, Anvil, XTP, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and products (e.g., Fixed Income, FX, Rates, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with FIX protocol and market connectivity (e.g., Bloomberg, Tradeweb, etc.).
  • Understanding of ITIL practices (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to automation or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., ITRS Geneos, Splunk, Grafana).
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.
  • Prior experience working with front-office users or trading desks.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
