About this Role

The role of Investment Director – Property at Better Society Capital offers a unique opportunity to enhance the supply of social and affordable housing in the UK using impact finance. This position calls for a passionate professional motivated by designing innovative solutions to chronic social problems. You will be leading the development of new property investment opportunities, working closely with market needs to identify scenarios where social impact investments can make meaningful differences. In collaboration with the wider organisation and external partners, you’ll harness your expertise in identifying investment strategies aligned with BSC’s impact goals. This pivotal role extends to overseeing property investments through BSC’s established processes, including building balanced investment portfolios and conducting comprehensive analyses of market trends and economic indicators. As part of the leadership team, you’ll engage in systems change dialogues and contribute to the overall strategic direction of Better Society Capital.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of new property investment opportunities and pipeline building.
  • Identify social issues or market needs where social impact investment can support solutions.
  • Utilise BSC’s systems change tools for scalable social property impact investments.
  • Manage the investment process, including investment proposal analysis and structuring.
  • Prepare and present investment recommendations to the Investment Committee.
  • Own the management and performance of the property investment portfolio.
  • Lead analysis of market trends for actionable insights.
  • Build and manage key strategic relationships with fund managers and investors.
  • Influence system actors through thought leadership and partnerships.
