Overview

Siegwerk in Edinburgh, IN is looking for an InHouse Technician to join our team. As an InHouse Technician, you will perform a broad range of technical and administrative duties within a customer plant pertaining to daily ink room management and operation. Use best practices, standard work, and policies as outlined by Siegwerk CUSA Inc. to ensure safe operations, support press side color activities, and maintain inventory records. Through these activities, the InHouse Technician III will ensure customer needs are met to the best of their ability. Complies with all company policies and standards to include (but not limited to): (1) maintain a neat, clean and safe work area; (2) maintain regular and consistent attendance; and (3) must have the ability to maintain positive working relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Works in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Participates in department productivity; ensuring ink room to meet daily goals; escalates complaints and problems to manager.
  • Promotes positive customer relations.
  • Responsible for accurately maintaining ink inventory.
  • Formulates and blends inks as required. Organizes inks for press runs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years press-related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience and knowledge of pre-press operations required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of basic computer operating and a good working knowledge of ink dispensing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routing reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Color matching ability and knowledge of inks and films required.
