The Opportunity

This is a newly created, senior infrastructure role within a large, operationally complex organisation that relies on a stable, modern technology estate. Although titled Infrastructure Manager, this is not a people‑management role. This position is for a senior, hands‑on infrastructure engineer with a manager's mindset, someone trusted to own and manage the infrastructure, make sound decisions, and be accountable for outcomes. You will be the key holder for infrastructure, working within a small, senior, highly trusted team with real visibility and autonomy.

  • Supporting network connectivity and SD‑WAN initiatives
  • Managing modern workplace and endpoints via Microsoft Intune
  • Acting as a senior escalation point for infrastructure issues
  • Improving resilience, documentation, and operational standards

The service desk function is separate; this role focuses on engineering, ownership, and decision‑making, not ticket volume.

The Profile That Fits
  • Is a senior infrastructure generalist, not a narrow specialist
  • Is comfortable working in lean teams with real accountability
  • Brings a manager's mindset without wanting to manage people
  • Values long‑term ownership and stability
