Overview

Job title: Infrastructure Engineer

Reports to: Head of Hybrid & Modern Workplace

Location: South of England. Must have valid driving licence and vehicle due to frequent travel.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on experience + benefits

Focus of the role

As a Hybrid Engineer within our Hybrid Team, you will be instrumental in leveraging technologies to advance on premise infrastructure ensuring a high quality and efficient working experience for our clients. Your primary focus will be on implementing, upgrading and supporting hybrid infrastructure solutions using a number of technologies and related tools that empower clients to collaborate seamlessly and ensure a reliable and modern IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality technical solutions on time that address business challenges and create value for clients.

  • Prepare clear, accurate documentation to support implementations, troubleshooting, and client knowledge transfer.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients to ensure projects and support requests are delivered effectively and on time.

  • Travel to client sites as required to support project delivery and technical services.

  • An analytical and pragmatic approach to problem-solving, with a focus on delivering practical solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong Microsoft knowledge, from Active directory to Windows servers and user devices

  • Proficient in cloud and on-premises integration, with a deep understanding of network and infrastructure concepts relevant to hybrid setups, and on premise.

  • Network cabling, switching

  • Wireless access points

  • Firewalls – Fortinet, SonicWall, Draytek, Watchguard

  • SAN architecture and installation – Nimble, Dell, HP

  • NAS implementation

  • Strong knowledge of virtualization including Hyper V and VMware

  • Backups including Veeam install, upgrade and configuration

  • Experience in DR and testing

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of efficiently identifying and resolving technical issues.

  • Relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within a managed service provider (MSP) or IT service environment.

  • Must be willing and able to travel as part of the role with full driving license
