This is a unique opportunity for an Individual Giving Manager to design and deliver a brand new IG strategy. This is a new role - no previous post holder, no politics and no baggage!

The essentials are here though and will provide you with a fantastic springboard. Greyhound Trust has a very loyal and generous supporter base, administered on the ThankQ CRM system. However, they don’t experience a co-ordinated donor journey and would benefit from much better engagement from us. There is a huge opportunity for you to do this, and to reach potential supporters that may not have considered us before.

Your work will form part of a larger overall strategy to develop earned income streams and enhance our engagement with the public. The ultimate goal, to home more retired greyhounds across the UK.

Role Responsibilities to include:
  • With the support of the Head of Income Generation produce an overall individual giving strategy, annual plans, budgets and KPIs for individual giving income.
  • Create a sustainable programme – increasing the supporter base across all channels, including developing and deploying strategies and programmes to engage and motivate supporters.
  • Plan and deliver engaging multi-channel fundraising campaigns and appeals.
  • Provide advice and support to branches for one-off lottery or other individual giving initiatives; ensure compliance with our gambling commission licence nationally and through branches.
  • Review and develop the charity’s programme of appeals, regular giving and sponsorship products, lottery and donor development programmes.
  • Maximise digital fundraising opportunities whilst recognising the contribution of non-digital approaches for certain audiences and product types.
Person Specification to include:
  • Experience of working in individual giving/direct marketing.
  • A track record of delivering income growth, and establishing and embedding new programmes of activity.
  • Experience of setting, managing and delivering against budgets, reporting on KPIs.
  • Ability to manage and monitor external suppliers and agencies and specifically in working in partnership with supporters and suppliers to maximise outcomes.
  • Experience of developing and evaluating acquisition or retention campaigns and activity across a variety of offline and digital channels.
  • Demonstrable experience of donor development, journeys and stewardship.
  • Understanding of legacy marketing.
  • A strong understanding of supporter motivations and feelings and the ability to translate this into engaging and responsive communications and content.
