Hydraulic Modellers (Flood Risk Management)

We are expanding our Water Catchment Management business and need talented Hydraulic Modellers to join our UK‑based teams. Your work will support major frameworks with leading water companies, delivering some of the largest Flood Risk Management frameworks ever seen. You will contribute to innovative solutions and products—including our market‑leading Flood Modeller and other hydraulic modelling tools—while protecting the environment and reducing flood risk to create lasting value for communities. Your role spans the full project lifecycle, from early planning to detailed design and delivery, giving you exposure to technically diverse and impactful projects designed to protect future generations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, calibrate, interpret, and interrogate 1D and 1D/2D hydraulic models using industry‑standard software (Flood Modeller, Tuflow, InfoWorks, HEC‑RAS).
  • Analyse, manage, and interpret data using GIS software (ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS) and analytical tools (R, Python).
  • Contribute innovative ideas, challenge the norm, and help deliver improved solutions for our clients.
  • Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver client outcomes.
  • Write, develop, and review complex technical reports.
  • Participate in mentoring and professional development within the team.
  • Peer‑review and check calculations and technical deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Degree (BSc, MSc) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Desire or current chartered status with a professional body (preferably ICE or CIWEM).
  • Experience implementing 1D and 2D modelling techniques for river, urban, and coastal flooding applications.
  • Proficiency with industry‑standard hydraulic modelling software (Flood Modeller, Tuflow, InfoWorks ICM).
  • Experience with technical assurance of modelling outputs and hydrological calculations.
  • Ability to mentor colleagues and support personal and career development.
