Job summary

A leading paving manufacturer in Northern Ireland is seeking an HR Placement student to provide support across various HR activities. This role offers an invaluable opportunity to gain practical HR experience in recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations. You will contribute to a busy People Team, assisting with HR administration and promoting company policies. To provide support across the full range of HR activities in a busy People Team, gaining practical experience in recruitment and selection, onboarding, employee relations and generalist HR administration.

Responsibilities
  • Provide generalist administration support for key activities within the HR function such as recruitment & selection, system administration, onboarding, employee records, absence management and general HR queries.
  • Provide HR advisory support promoting company policies in line with relevant employment law.
  • Support end‑to‑end recruitment to provide an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Deliver the HR onboarding process for new starts.
  • Generate data for departmental KPI reporting.
  • Assist the HR team in maintaining positive internal and external relationships with employees and members of the Tobermore Leaders for Growth.
  • Contribute to HR projects including lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Act in a confidential and trustworthy manner at all times, promoting Tobermore HEART values.
  • Any other duties or tasks as required and as deemed within your competence.

Required Criteria
  • Currently studying an HRM/Business related degree that allows for a placement year commencing the following academic year
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Interest in employment law, HR best practice, and manufacturing operations
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment

Desired Criteria
  • Working towards an HRM related specialism/degree
  • Previous HR/generalist administration experience
  • Experience using a computerised HR system
