To undertake a full range of highly complex and routine invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations, providing highly specialised input to the delivery of the clinical service and actively contributing to the smooth running of a quality service to patients

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Band 7 Highly Specialist CRM/EP Cardiac Physiologist for a period of 12 months fixed term contract. This position may include weekend shifts.

We are a friendly, education minded department looking to support your continuing development and ongoing CPD. A 15% recruitment and retention premium (RRP) will be added to your basic salary in addition to high cost living allowance (HCA). An application to increase to this RRP has also been made. Opportunities to participate in weekday and weekend waiting list initiative at enhanced rates are also frequent. You will be required to hold a BSc Cardiac Physiology/Healthcare Science (Cardiology) or AHCS Certificate of PTP Equivalence or RCCP registration. Postgraduate qualification in CRM, EP such as BHRS/IBHRE accreditation is essential. St. George’s Hospital is the provider of one of the largest specialised cardiology services in London.

Person specification
Experience
  • Extensive post graduate clinical experience at Specialist level including cath labs, pacing, EP/Ablation
  • Experience of staff training and assessment.
  • Extensive experience of training and supervision of junior staff.
Qualifications
  • BSc in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) /BSc Healthcare Science (Cardiology) or equivalent extensive clinical
  • Post graduate professional accreditation e.g. IBHRE/BHRS/EHRA CRM or EP
  • Experience at Specialist Cardiac Physiology level.
  • Training and Assessing Qualification
  • RCCP/AHCS/HCPC registration
Knowledge
  • Carry out and take responsibility for the full range of Cardiac Investigations to advanced level and be able to provide detailed clinical reports.
  • Detailed knowledge of all invasive techniques including highly specialised procedures e.g. Complex device implantation/followup or advanced PCI.
  • Understand and interpret routine and advanced specialist Cardiac Investigation results and analyse clinical data.
