Qualifications

Overview

Role

As a HGV Class C Driver, you’ll be at the heart of our New Dimensions programme, ensuring the safe, reliable and timely movement of specialist vehicles and equipment across the UK. This role directly supports Fire and Rescue Service operations, helping maintain the high standards and reputation of our service. It’s an opportunity to make a real difference while developing your skills in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and collect New Dimension vehicles including both HGV and non HGV vehicles nationwide in line with planned schedules
  • Maintain vehicles, tools and working areas to a clean, safe and compliant standard
  • Support basic diagnostics, including tachograph checks, and ensure accurate documentation
  • Keep clear records of work progress and communicate effectively with supervisors
  • Represent the business professionally at Fire and Rescue Service sites, promoting safety and integrity

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment, and this position also involves travel and working across a range of internal and customer sites as part of the role.

The role is onsite as you’ll be required to go to Bardon to pick up the truck or vehicle before heading out across the UK to drive. If you’re not scheduled to drive that day, you’ll be expected to work onsite. The set working times are 07:30–16:30, totalling 40 hours per week, with overtime and call-out requirements.

  • Proven experience of driving HGV Class C vehicles
  • Experience operating multilift systems is desirable

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
