Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire (Site-Based with Some Travel to Redditch Required)

We are now looking for a Health & Safety Officer to join our Operations team and play a key role in strengthening our safety culture across DCS sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive H&S professional who wants to make a visible impact in a fast-paced operational environment.

The Role

The Health & Safety Officer will provide strong, visible health and safety support across DCS operations. Working closely with Site and Operations Management teams, you will help embed best practice, ensure legal compliance and drive continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote DCS values in all interactions with employees, contractors, suppliers and external partners
  • Support the development and reinforcement of a positive and proactive Health & Safety culture
  • Work closely with Operations Management to implement and embed the DCS Health & Safety strategy
  • Support legal compliance and continuous improvement initiatives across sites
  • Identify operational risks and work collaboratively with management to implement effective controls
  • Support the development, monitoring and reporting of Health & Safety performance metrics
  • Conduct audits and inspections, clearly reporting findings and improvement actions
  • Review risk assessments and provide clear, practical guidance on Health & Safety matters
  • Deliver Health & Safety training, inductions and toolbox talks
  • Support incident investigations and corrective actions as required
  • Liaise with employees, subcontractors and suppliers on Health & Safety matters
  • Communicate Health & Safety standards, plans and performance across the business
  • Ensure all activities comply with GDPR and internal company policies
About You
  • NEBOSH qualified (or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification)
  • Proven experience in Health & Safety and compliance within an operational environment
  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, packaging or FMCG environments (food experience beneficial but not essential)
  • Confident influencing positive safety behaviours at all levels of the organisation
  • Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Highly organised with strong planning and time management skills
  • Accurate and detail focused
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Experience conducting internal Health & Safety audits
  • Background within food manufacturing or FMCG environments
