Responsibilities

  • Support with managing and updating Safety, Health and Environmental documents.
  • Assist in producing, reviewing and updating risk assessments.
  • Help ensure compliance with HSE regulations during audits.
  • Assist in Accident and Incident Investigations.
  • Prepare safety and environmental data for meetings.
  • Promote a positive safety culture.
  • Act as point of contact for health and safety issues.
  • Support implementation of Safety, Health and Environmental systems.

Job description

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be willing to pursue a career as a safety practitioner. The role holder will be motivated and keen to learn, who is dedicated to driving continuous improvement in the management of safety, health and environmental practices across the Group.

Responsibilities:
  • Support with managing and updating the Company’s library of Safety, Health and Environmental documents, helping to ensure that they are up to date with any new legislation.
  • Assist in producing, reviewing and updating risk assessments and method statements under the supervision of the Head of SHEQ.
  • Helping to ensure that work is carried out in line with HSE regulations by assisting with the Group’s programme of audits.
  • Assist in the completion of Accident and Incident Investigations from an administrative perspective.
  • Collate and help in preparing safety and environmental related data for presentation to Board and Operational meetings.
  • Assist in promoting a positive safety culture across the business.
  • Act as a point of contact for health and safety issues.
  • Assist and support in introduction and implementation of Safety, Health and Environmental systems and software where needed to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the general administrational tasks associated with the safety and environmental management systems.
  • Occasional travel to other sites and depots for the purpose of Safety, Health and Environmental audits, inspections and improvement activities.
  • Any other reasonable duties commensurate with this post.
  • Working towards or willing to work towards a professional qualification in EHS, NEBOSH, IOSH, Environmental Management.
  • Willing to work towards a proficiency in applicable EHS codes, standards, regulations, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good analytical and organisational skills desirable.
