Senior / Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Oxfordshire / Buckinghamshire

Salary: £50-£60k + £5,000 Car Allowance + 26 Days Holiday + Pension (7.5% employer contribution) + Private Medical.

Employment: Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting on behalf of a major UK infrastructure delivery partner working on one of the largest civil engineering projects currently underway in Europe. This organisation brings together industry‑leading expertise to deliver large‑scale highways, earthworks and structures across a multi‑year programme of works.

The Role

As Senior H&S Advisor, you’ll play a vital role in driving a proactive Safety, Health & Wellbeing culture across a large delivery area. You’ll work closely with operational teams and supply chain partners, providing support, assurance and guidance to ensure safe delivery of complex civil engineering works.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Leading all SH&W activity for your designated delivery area
  • Building trusted relationships with construction and supply chain teams
  • Supporting and promoting corporate and local safety initiatives
  • Undertaking regular site inspections and identifying trends or anomalies
  • Managing audit/inspection findings and monitoring close‑out actionsSupporting investigations and helping drive local improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with internal safety management systems
  • Carrying out internal audits and surveillance activity
  • Promoting wellbeing and behavioural safety programmes
  • Participating in the on‑call rota when required
  • Contributing to the wider SH&W function across the project
About You

We’re looking for a confident communicator with strong operational safety experience gained on major construction or civil engineering projects.

Essential
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Tech IOSH (or higher)
  • Strong knowledge of site safety within a construction environment
  • Ability to influence behaviours and encourage good practice

The organisation is delivering a significant section of a nationally important infrastructure scheme spanning multiple counties. Works include large‑scale earthworks, structures, viaducts, bridges, road diversions and environmentally sensitive construction.
