Overview

In collaboration with its partners, The University of Wolverhampton is planning to open a new and innovative medical school in the Black Country, taking its first students in 2027 (subject to GMC approval).

The University of Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint a Head of School to lead the delivery of its new MBChB course. Working closely with the Dean of Medicine, you will guide the School through the regulatory pathway to secure Primary Medical Qualification (PMQ) awarding rights and attract Office for Students funding for home (UK) medical student places. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the strategic direction and operational delivery of a new medical school in the United Kingdom in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the local NHS.

Responsibilities
  • To lead on the development and implementation of key operational plans in support of the School and University Strategy.
  • To ensure the School delivers excellence across its full portfolio of activities.
  • To create employer-led provision that meets the needs of key stakeholders.
  • To deliver a high-performance culture through effective recruitment, development, coaching and performance management.
  • To create an inclusive and supportive environment in which staff and students can thrive, promoting equality, embracing diversity and prioritising well-being.
