General Overview

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

The Head of Income Generation will lead the strategic growth and diversification of FearFree’s income, ensuring the charity has the relationships and resources needed to deliver our Strategy. This will include a strong focus in business ventures and earned income. This is a new and exciting role suited to someone ambitious, entrepreneurial, and results focused. You will be motivated by the challenge of driving significant income growth and expanding our funding base. The postholder will be business minded, innovative, visionary, and flexible, bringing fresh ideas and creative approaches to inspire funders and attract new investment. They will take a strategic, forward‑looking view of income generation, anticipating change and positioning FearFree to thrive in an evolving external landscape.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based (either in Wiltshire or Devon), alongside requiring travel for meetings and other deliverables.

This role may include evening and weekend work when required.

Operational Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Income Generation
  • Develop and lead an ambitious income generation strategy that brings fresh ideas to grow income across corporate partnerships, trusts/foundations, individual giving and commercial opportunities.
  • Diversify and grow funding streams to enhance FearFree’s financial resilience and support long‑term organisational ambitions.
  • Lead and inspire a high‑performing income generation team, fostering innovation and collaboration across fundraising functions.
  • Drive organisational culture that prioritises partnership excellence and results‑based income generation.
Championing Innovation and Impact
  • Foster innovation in income generation models and partnership approaches to meet emerging needs and opportunities.
  • Leverage impact data and evaluation insights to strengthen funding bids and demonstrate FearFree’s outcomes to potential and existing funders.
  • Represent FearFree at high‑profile events, conferences and meetings, to build visibility and credibility across key networks.
Market Intelligence and Opportunity Development
  • Lead proactive market scanning and analyse outcomes to identify emerging opportunities, partners, and funding trends aligned with FearFree’s strategic goals.
  • Develop innovative and fundable propositions that respond to societal, educational, and policy developments within Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, Stalking and Behaviour Change.
  • Alongside the Executive team strengthen relationships with key influencers, policy‑makers, and funders to position FearFree as a thought leader in Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, Stalking and Behaviour Change.
Partnership and Relationship Management
  • Lead on increasing our network High Net Worth Individuals and Major Donors.
  • Manage, retain, and grow existing strategic partnerships, ensuring exceptional stewardship and funder satisfaction.
  • Champion exceptional partnership management approaches, ensuring funders experience a seamless and impactful relationship with FearFree.
Financial and Performance Management
  • Maintain a comprehensive new business pipeline.
  • Work collaboratively with the finance team to ensure effective budget planning, forecasting, and reporting across all income streams.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance against targets, providing clear insight to the CEO and Board.
  • Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, ethical standards, and data protection requirements.
Collaboration and Organisational Alignment
  • Collaborate closely with the Business Development Manager, and service teams to co‑develop evidence‑led, fundable propositions.
  • Ensure all income generation activities are strategically aligned with FearFree’s programmes, impact framework, and strategic goals.
  • Actively contribute to the Executive Leadership Team, supporting cross functional initiatives and organisational change.
General
  • Live and embody the FearFree values.
  • Promote the service to external agencies where applicable.
  • Have a responsibility around safeguarding of both adults and children, maintaining knowledge of appropriate policies and procedures and integrated working.
  • Support colleagues in all services across FearFree as required.
  • To engage in and contribute to effective team working with a flexible and pro‑active approach, including cover for other team members’ holidays and sickness.
  • Undertake all statutory and mandatory training, as required by the organisation.
