Position Overview

As Head of Health & Safety, you will provide leadership to the SHEQ Team, facilitating an environment of quality, safety and professionalism across all divisions at BJF Group. You will work closely with the wider Senior Leadership Team to ensure regulatory compliance, protect our workforce and environment, and maintain high‑quality standards. The role requires strong communication, cost control and the ability to maximise revenue generation opportunities through a value‑add proposition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality across all divisions/teams
  • Produce a divisional strategy that aligns with the group strategy and is achievable
  • Build strong relationships with all Heads of Division to achieve strategic success
  • Communicate effectively with all personnel
  • Support the Q&C Manager with Alcumus Audits across ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
  • Ensure compliance with Safety Schemes In Procurement (SSIP)
  • Drive a positive SHEQ culture within divisional teams
  • Educate mid‑level and senior management on best practice
  • Maintain and continually improve the established IMS system
  • Produce and update policy and procedure documents
Requirements
Qualifications / Accreditations
  • CMIOSH
  • Ideally hold or be working towards a NEBOSH/NCRQ Diploma or NVQ 5 (or equivalent) and relevant membership of IOSH
  • Valid CSCS card
Professional Experience
  • Proven experience in a similar role within Facilities Management, Reactive & Construction background
  • Lead Auditor
  • Lead Investigator
  • Policy writer or technical writer
  • Results‑driven achievements over 5 years
