The Role

As part of our ongoing business development, we are looking for a Head of Brand to join our Group Board, responsible for shaping and transforming the next stages of our brand evolution, supporting the business position that we hold within our market and the Automotive sectors that we represent.

As Head of Brand, you will shape and deliver a clear, consistent narrative encompassing the value of our unique national core vehicle repair businesses, our luxury collection, prestige approved offering and commercial vehicle centres. In this role, you will define how each segment’s value is communicated across all channels, ensuring our repair platform presents a unified brand experience while highlighting the distinctive strengths of each offering.

We are looking for an experienced brand professional with a demonstrable track record of delivering impactful brand development, working across scaled organisations and business disciplines through B2B and B2C organisations. Automotive sector experience is beneficial however not essential.

Group Brand Strategy (B2B Focus)
  • Define and deliver Steer’s group brand strategy, aligned to the wider business and transformation strategy.
  • Create a Brand timeline showcasing the communication strategy and structure of how each brand and master automotive group brand will engage with each relevant audience, to generate the highest levels of engagement and connectivity. Effectively present and share this communication template and timeline with key group board and executive stake holders, ensuring internal connection and clarity of our brands direction remains clear and is successfully delivered.
  • Ensure the brand supports Steer’s positioning as a trusted, high-performing partner of choice for our insurer clients and OEM partners.
  • Protect brand integrity through growth, acquisitions, and change.
Brand Consistency Across the Network
  • Ensure consistent brand application across over 200 locations, covering all aspects of corporate identity including signage, site presentation, customer communications, and digital channels are all consistent and in keeping with brand standards and guidelines.
  • Partner with Estates, Facilities, and Operations leaders to ensure our physical environments reflect brand standards.
  • Work closely with the Strategy & Transformation Director, Group Commercial team, Group Board and Divisional Managing Directors to ensure brand supports insurer client and OEM confidence.
  • Influence and develop Divisional brand and communication teams to deliver consistent communication ensuring colleagues recognise the ongoing investment and activities in place to create a diverse and inclusive working environment, where ongoing development is prioritised and our colleagues engagement is leading benchmark of progress and success.
  • Contribute to all group client and partnership presentations, including strategic partnership activity.
  • Ensure brand standards align with insurer and OEM audit expectations.
  • Own Steer’s brand reputation across client and customer touchpoints, including Google Reviews & Business Profile, Trustpilot, and other feedback channels.
  • Partner with Customer Experience teams to ensure the brand promise is consistently delivered.
  • Lead PR response strategies, both when opportunities to enhance reputation are identified or to mitigate reputational risk.
Brand Governance & Enablement
  • Own brand guidelines, tone of voice, editorial and governance processes.
  • Enable operational and support teams with tools and guidance to apply the brand consistently.
  • Oversee brand-related agencies and suppliers where required.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience leading brand or corporate identity in a B2B, multi-site organisation.
  • Strong understanding of brand in operational, service-led environments.
  • Experience working closely with senior leadership and strategy teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Preferred
  • Experience in automotive, Retail, logistics, or other regulated, multi-site service sectors.
  • Experience supporting brand integration during acquisitions.
  • Experience in OEM or partner-led brand environments.
