Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a procurement or sourcing role, ideally in a multi-site, operational UK business.
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practice, contract management, and commercial negotiation.
  • Experience managing indirect spend categories.
  • Ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders from shop floor to senior leadership.
  • Self-starter, confident working independently and travelling regularly across sites.
  • Ability to be hands-on and think strategically.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • CIPS qualification desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and optimising non-steel spend across the business.
  • Leading initiatives to centralise contracts, identify cost savings, and drive efficiency.
  • Managing key supplier contracts and stakeholder engagement.
  • Leading supplier selection and negotiation processes.
  • Initiating and managing procurement projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
