Travel: UK site travel, occasional International

Package: Up to £120k + Car Allowance + Up to 30% Bonus + 6% Pension + PHI

A long-established and highly successful international group is seeking an exceptional Group Finance Director to join its headquarters in Northamptonshire. This is a pivotal appointment that will act as the No.2 to the Group CFO, with a clearly defined succession pathway to the Group CFO position in the medium term.

The business is a market-leading distributor and manufacturer, operating across multiple UK sites and several international locations. With strong recent growth, both organically and through acquisition, the Group is now on an exciting journey to build a more integrated, collaborative and insight-driven international organisation.

This is a fully onsite leadership role requiring regular travel to UK sites to strengthen cross-functional collaboration and ensure financial consistency across the Group.

The Opportunity

As Group Finance Director, you will take responsibility for both Group-level finance and UK operational finance leadership, helping shape the financial structure, governance and performance insight needed for the next phase of growth.

  • Act as a strategic partner to the CFO and wider leadership team
  • Lead and develop a high-performing UK finance team
  • Strengthen financial controls, governance and reporting
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, technical accounting and FP&A
  • Enhance financial insight, data integrity and performance analysis
  • Support international acquisitions and lead financial integration activity

Candidate Profile
  • ACA-qualified accountants (Top 10 / Big 4 preferred), though ACCA or CIMA may be considered
  • Strong post-qualification experience across industry, ideally combining SME and corporate exposure
  • Proven capability across technical accounting, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and group reporting
  • Experience within multi-site businesses; international exposure beneficial
  • A proactive, hands-on leader with a track record of developing teams
  • Someone commercially minded, collaborative and comfortable engaging across operational and commercial areas
  • A high-calibre individual motivated by improvement, challenge and positive change
