Food Technology Teacher - Secondary School
Location: Northampton
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term or Permanent
Salary: Competitive daily rate / MPS-UPS (dependent on experience)

We are working in partnership with a secondary school in Northampton that is looking to appoint a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join their team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive department and make a real impact on students' learning and life skills.

Whether you are an experienced teacher or an ECT, this role offers the chance to teach a subject that encourages creativity, independence, and real-world understanding.

The Role
  • Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teaching practical cooking skills, nutrition, food science, and health & safety
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safe working practices
  • Assessing, tracking, and supporting student progress
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and well‑organised classroom environment
  • Working collaboratively with departmental staff and wider school teams
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds QTS or is working towards Qualified Teacher Status
  • Has a strong subject knowledge in Food Technology or a related field
  • Is confident managing practical lessons in a busy classroom environment
  • Demonstrates strong organisation and classroom management skills
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to student progress
  • Previous experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level is desirable
