We are looking for an experienced Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) driver with geographical knowledge of County Durham to join our Fleet Section.

What is involved

You will ensure that the Service’s passenger carrying vehicles are driven safely and competently, and that passengers receive a good level of service during their journey. That the service operates gives the right level of reliability and punctuality. To ensure that vehicles are treated with care and the County Council’s investment is used to best effect.

What will I need
  • Current full Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) Licence
  • Current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)

You should have knowledge of relevant passenger transport legislation and regulations and significant relevant experience of driving a range of passenger carrying vehicles.

Please refer to the attached person specification for the full criteria.

If successful, you will be required to undertake and pass an in-house driving assessment as part of our pre‑employment checks before any offer of appointment can be confirmed.

If successful, you will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.

Interviews

Interviews will be held on Friday 30 January 2026.
