Pilates Instructor

GLL is recruiting a Pilates Instructor to work within Better Gateshead Leisure Centres; Heworth, Dunston, Gateshead Stadium and Blaydon.

Role Summary

A Fitness Class Instructor role is includes planning, delivering and developing exceptional fitness classes to customers. The instructor should focus on the following key areas

  • Designing and delivering safe and effective workouts
  • Regressing and progressing class to suit all customers abilities
  • Design choreography for classes on a regular basis using relevant music genres to suit all participants
  • To encourage and promote other activities and facilities participants to endorse cross train within the centre

The Pilates Instructor is responsible to the General Manager

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • To comply with the commitments outlines in the Customer Charter ensuring that standards are maintained as stipulated
  • To maintain a good and positive image of the centres to all participants proving a welcoming, helpful and professional service
  • To go above and beyond to ensure that the participants have an exception experience on every visit
  • To ensure that the class taught is as advertised is part of the GLL Fitness Class product
  • To ensure the class environment is safe before during and after the class
  • To ensure the safety and control of customers within the class environment and to enforce all centres guidelines
  • To ensure all participants have registered and are booked onto the class
Other
  • Act in accordance with, and actively promotes all GLL policies and standards.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post’s level of responsibility or required particularly as a result of events outside of GLL’s business control (pandemics etc).
  • Work flexibly in line with the needs of the business at peak flow times, evenings and weekends.
  • Deliver critical incident management as and when required.

  • Reports to General Manager
  • To constructively interact with different people in a variety of areas within the operational team and GLL support services.
  • Builds good working relationships with all GLL colleagues, working both proactively and collaboratively.
  • Builds positive and progressive relationships with local authority partners as required.
