Steer Automotive Group is looking for a Final Costing VDA to play a vital role in ensuring repair costs are accurate, justified, and fully compliant before submission for authority.

About the Role

As Final Costing VDA, you will be responsible for reviewing and validating final repair assessments post-repair, ensuring all labour, parts, and additional costs are accurate, supported, and compliant with agreed methodologies and contractual requirements.

This role is central to cost control, audit readiness, and continuous improvement, requiring exceptional attention to detail and confident communication with repair sites, engineers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, reconcile, and validate final repair assessments post-repair prior to submission for authority
    • Complete 15+ final assessments per day accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure all required documentation, images, and supporting evidence are correctly uploaded within the estimating system
  • Validate that approved repair methodologies have been followed in line with manufacturer guidelines and engineering standards
  • Confirm parts pricing accuracy in line with agreed supplier contracts and pricing frameworks, highlighting any discrepancies
  • Identify and ensure inclusion of inherited and additional charges, ensuring full documentation is present on the system
  • Accurately record all assessment data to support audit, reporting, and training requirements
  • Communicate effectively with repair sites, engineers, and internal teams to resolve queries and discrepancies
  • Maintain consistently high levels of accuracy, compliance, and cost control
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying trends, recurring errors, and opportunities to improve processes
Knowledge & Experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the vehicle repair industry, legislation, and trade practices
  • Confident using estimating systems and digital platforms, including:
    Audatex, GT Global, Excel, Autoflow, and Escribe
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Previous experience in vehicle damage assessment, estimating, or engineering
  • Strong understanding of repair methodologies, parts pricing, and labour operations
  • Experience working within contractual pricing frameworks and agreed supplier rates
  • Familiarity with audit, compliance, or quality assurance processes
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical capability
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to collaborate across sites and teams
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple assessments efficiently
  • Strong ability to interpret repair methodologies, engineering standards, and contractual requirements
  • Methodical, logical, and structured approach to work
  • Professional, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing positively to a wider team
