Field Civil Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field-Based Civil Engineer to lead civil engineering activities on site, ensuring construction aligns with design specifications, safety standards, and project schedules. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a landmark project in the transition to net‑zero emissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Supervision: Oversee civil construction activities on site, including earthworks, foundations, and drainage systems.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all civil works meet specified standards, codes, and project requirements. Conduct inspections and quality checks regularly, reporting any NCRs to appropriate QA personnel.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce site safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on site. Report and address safety concerns promptly.
- Coordination & Communication: Liaise with project & construction managers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve issues and ensure smooth progress.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical reports as required.
- Design & Technical Support: Review civil design drawings and specifications; provide technical support during construction to resolve field issues. Prepare ad‑hoc designs and drawings as needed to support construction progress.
- Environmental & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure civil works adhere to environmental regulations and permits associated with the project.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in civil construction, preferably in large‑scale industrial or energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of UK construction standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental compliance.
- Experience with earthworks, foundations, and site infrastructure.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software and tools is desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, on‑site environment.
